Working With Trauma & PTSD

Many of the problems we struggle with have their roots in unresolved traumatic experiences.

We often think of trauma as being caused by a one-off event such as an assault, accident or sudden personal loss. But it can also be a result of repeated or enduring adverse experiences - often originating in childhood - such as feeling unloved or neglected, bullying, or physical, sexual and emotional abuse. All these experiences can have a profound effect on how our minds, bodies and nervous system cope with everyday stress and worry.

In my work, I draw on range of techniques including energy psychology, mindfulness and breathwork to provide therapy that is tailored to the particular needs and uniqueness of each individual. The evidence-based techniques I use are particularly effective at treating traumatic memories and PTSD symptoms, which often do not respond well to talking therapy alone.

These techniques can be easily learnt to help you manage stress, anxiety and negative thoughts, as well as for improving general health, energy levels and well-being.

ILF Neurofeedback is another powerful tool for treating trauma. There is now a significant body of research that attests to its efficacy, particularly as people with trauma have highly dysregulated nervous systems. It can be combined with talking and energy therapies or provided as a standalone treatment.
